The are the following events under the main programme (they can be changed or added by participants):
The “The British Healthcare in Russia” project will be held on 5-7th October 2010. The main programme lasts for 2 days, the 3d day – topical workshops on request of British clinics and companies.
The project is unique as the programme will be based on the “Open Space” approach, which gives each participant an opportunity to form discussion programme, to introduce topics for discussion and questions for roundtable discussions, seminars and discussions in small groups. And above all to communicate and discuss with all contributors and experts the topics which are of greatest interest to such participants, share knowledge and experienDates: ces between colleagues, decide some practical questions.
Seminar: The role of professional medical associations in development of self-regulation in healthcare.
Questions under discussion: Professional medical associations in the United Kingdom: historical background and activity review, experiences of government affairs and contribution to healthcare reform. Perspectives and procedure of development of self-regulation in Russia.

Seminar: Primary healthcare and family medical doctor: new ways of improving effectiveness
Questions under discussion: Primary healthcare – is it relevant today? Family medical doctor’s and nurse’s new functions. Family medical doctor and large manufacturing outfits: partnership for the sake of workers.

Awareness-rising seminar/ informational meeting for representatives of British companies (manufactures of medical equipment, expendable materials, pharmaceuticals): “Peculiarities of placing a government and municipal order in healthcare and pharmacy in 2010-2011 in Russia”.

– ways of placing an order for procurement in healthcare
– lot formation peculiarities in the process of procurement in healthcare
– peculiarities and description of technical and functional characteristics in procurement of pharmaceuticals and medical equipment in technical enquiry
– acceptability/ admissibility of pharmaceutical trade name indication at order stage
– essential requirements to participants placing an order for procurement in healthcare
– acceptable requirement to documents attached as a part of a tender/ proposal in the process of placing an order for procurement in healthcare
– some peculiarities in order placing in healthcare by request for quotation
– technology of on-line auction
– on-line auction as a way to place an order for pharmaceuticals procurement

Duration of each seminar – 3 hours
Visits to public and private healthcare facilities of St. Petersburg
British clinics representatives will be able to visit leading multipurpose hospital units and diagnostic centers of St. Petersburg. It is possible to organize an individual programme. There will be meetings with management in each clinic (chief doctors and/or his/her deputies, chiefs of departments, doctors)
Duration: 4 hours
There will be a final press-conference for mass media on world achievements in these medical trends at the end of “The British Healthcare Event in St. Petersburg”.
A guaranteed presentation, engagement in a discussion, answers to journalists’ questions is offered to a British clinic representative during the press-conference.
Participant paid an organizational fee gets an opportunity to:
- Participate in all main events including speech and/ or presentation, roundtable discussions, visits to clinics (for 3 representatives from a clinic/ company).
- Hand out presentation folders to all participants.
- Participate in press-conference for mass-media.
- Add information about his/her organization in the summary “Guide to The British Healthcare Event in St. Petersburg”. (circulation 1000 copies)
- Special conditions for participation during international exhibition “Hospital 2010”.
It is possible to settle an individual pattern of participation.
Organizational fee is 2900 pounds per company/ clinic.
Additional programme (having an special request from a British company, cost of extra events should be agreed additionally and it is not included in main contribution).
Topical workshops on advanced medical technologies in treatment, diagnostics, rehabilitation.
Workshop’s aim is to promote advanced medical services provided in leading British clinics among doctors in North-West region and St. Petersburg for further cooperation and treatment of Russian patients.
Workshop is organized on advanced application from a British clinic sent before 30th July 2010.
Topical workshops on medical equipments and devices, IT and other clinic’s infrastructure and etc.
Workshop’s aim is to promote advanced medical equipment, expendable materials, armamentarium, IT, etc among relevant professionals working in St. Petersburg and North-West region.
Seminar is organized on advanced application from a British company sent before 30th July 2010.
Organizational fee of an additional topical workshop – 5000-10000 euro
(It is possible to order one topical workshop for several British companies working in the same sphere)
